For me, eating a healthy diet is a must.  Like most people this can be difficult to do.  So what I try to do is make it easy.  I find the key to this is planning and being somewhat organized.  Every week I make different nut milk.  It is best to alternate your consumption of nuts so that you don’t run into any allergy issues.  One of the easiest nut milks you can possibly make is Hemp Seed Milk.  It’s frothy, creamy and no soaking or straining is required. 

 

Store bought nut milks contain preservatives, stabilizers and additives.  There is nothing like homemade milk!  Making your own nut milk will save you a lot of money as well. 

 

Hemp seeds are rich in protein and minerals, especially iron, potassium, zinc and magnesium. Hemp is an excellent source of fiber, which helps to eliminate toxins and regulate hormones in the digestive system.  They are also a great source of healthy fats.  Hemp is rich in not only has anti-inflammatory omega-3 fats, but also high in gamma-linolenic acid (GLA). GLA is a type of omega-6 fat that unlike others will not produce an inflammatory response.

 

I love adding Hemp Milk to smoothies, bulletproof coffees, and matcha green tea.

Recipe

3 cups filtered water

½ cup Hemp Seeds

pinch of Pink Himalayan Salt

optional: a date to sweeten, ½ tsp of either vanilla, cacao powder, cinnamon

blend in your blender for 2 minutes

store in airtight container for up to 5 days
